Nice Katie Rice article on Meathaus

Check out this really cool and insightful write-up by Chris McD on Skadi artist, Katie Rice, and her genius post-it doodles: Link.

Also, Katie’s artwork is in the new Meathaus anthology sketchbook titled Go For The Gold! 3. The book features the sketch pages of 35 amazingly diverse artists. I got my copy a few days ago, and it’s definitely filled to the brim with awesome artwork. Here’s a preview page.

And if you’re not already aware, Meathaus has a great blog where you can keep up-to-date with all the amazing, irregular, and sometimes obscure artwork being created out there. I check it daily, and I’m seldom unimpressed.

Call me ig-nant, but I never knew the LJ community was hiding so many amazing comic artists. Here’s a few that I discovered recently.

-Nick Edwards is a super talented dude from London, England. Aside from his doodle filled sketchbook pages, be sure not to miss his incredible comic, Phantom Sword.

-Rebecca Dart is an uber-talented artist hailing from Vancouver, Canada, and she somehow flew below my radar for far too long. All of her stuff is genius, but my favorite is her mini-comic, Drom the Squat.

-Steve Wolfhard, also from Vancouver, is the creator of the poignant and hilarious comic Cat Rackham. Also check out his website dedicated solely to Cat Rackham.

If you know of any other great LJ comic artists, post em in the comments section. I’d love to check em out.
