Some of you might know me from “MooBeard the Cow Pirate”, “Ralph and Bichael”, or my goofy songs on TheFuMP, and others of you might go out on friday nights instead. I picked this comic just because I love the “for realz” ending! The other drawings in the rest of the strip are great too! Great job Michael!

I wanted to also thank Michael for his patience. I was going to air this comic with the rest of the contest winners, but I thought it was a little overkill. Thanks for not posting the strip earlier!

It seems to be one of the best kept secrets of the webcomics universe, and it needs more eyes to look at it and take in it’s glory.

Skadi and the Hill People, part 1 of 6

Here comes our longest Skadi story yet! The idea for making “Skadi and the Hill Folk” came from two things I like a lot and wanted to draw- hillbilly/Appalachian culture, and scary stories. Or more specifically, the legend of Sawney Bean, and the Blue Fugates of Kentucky.

The story of Sawney Bean is a scary one! Bean was a Scottish cannibal- he lived in a cave with his wife and kids, many of whom were the product of incest. Read the grisly details here!

There isn’t a whole lot of information on the Blue Fugates, unfortunately…however, they were also a reclusive incestuous family. They’re a bit more sympathetic though, seeing as they didn’t have many options for dating, being blue-skinned and all. They didn’t eat and pickle lonely travelers as far as I know, either. If you don’t believe me when I say that there are real-life blue folk out there, just google methemoglobinemia . And read more about The Fugates here!

Anyhow, I hope you guys keep coming back to see what happens! Luke is the one who’s better at story structure, so making this was a bit out of my comfort zone. It also has a lot of gross character designs- another thing that is new for me. That said, this story was fun to make!

David Gemmill Takes Tuesday and Dumm Turns One!

Today is our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY here at Dumm Comics (and there was much rejoicing)! On this hallowed day we’re proud to present David Gemmill as our new addition to the Dumm line-up. From now on, David will be filling your Tuesdays up with cartoon hilarity.

And now a word from the man, himself:

“I know most of you are pretty upset about the Captain (Sean) going on a hiatus, but hopefully you will still visit DUMM COMICS DOT COM on TUESDAYS to come see my SHYT. WORD UP HOMIES. I’ve been building up a stockpile of fun, stupid, silly, crazy comics for your reading pleasure. This is quite an exciting time for DUMM COMICS, not only marking it’s anniversary (BOOYA) but also all the fun surprises coming in the months ahead. “Sorry Guys” will also be a new experiment in Dumm lineup, as it is the first regular weekday spot to feature random one-shot comics every week. So don’t be discouraged if you really HATE one of my comics one week, because I might toss in a totally different one with new characters the next week. It’s like a grab-bag of FUN. I hope you guys like it.
