Guess who’s coming to Dumm?
by Ricky

Musician, cartoonist, and internet celebrity: TV’s Kyle is a true renaissance man who never fails to impress. During the Dumm Tryout, Kyle was a real champ and was the first to do his own version of each of the five daily Dumm comics!
In celebration, this week we will be featuring Kyle’s unique take on Big Pants Mouse, Through the Port-hole, Skadi, 1930 Nightmare Theatre, and Earthward Ho!
…And keep an eye out for Frog Raccoon Strawberry, coming soon to weekends on Dumm comics!

Isn’t he that one guy John K slammed on his blog a while back?

John has slammed loads of artists on his blog…but we trust that the people who come here to read comics will form their own opinions about what they like and dislike, and why, regardless of what someone else thinks.

I really don’t think there is another way of saying what the talented Miss Katie has stated. I didn’t enjoy Big Pants Mouse, but love was there and that goes for all the other wonderful comics here. Art doesn’t have a template there isn’t a bad or good, it’s your eyes that make the joy appear. Though I get what your saying that “John K. spoke down of him, so why’s he here?” John K. is a respected Cartoonist in all forms and with that forms an opinion as does Katie Rice, Gabe Swarr, Ian Quincy Jones, and even a nobody like me, so get out there and grow as an Artist, Person, and a Being of this or any Earth you see fit!!

I think it’s lame that in the cartooning community, a group that doesn’t get much attention in the art word to begin with, we have people like John tearing other artists down unprovoked. What good does that do? He takes his stuff way too seriously.

What’s that Mr. Moon? It sounds like YOU’RE tearing JOHN down. Bit ironic.
In reference to the link above- I don’t really see how John K was slamming Kyle. I had to look real hard to even figure out which drawing was Kyle’s (and I’m still only guessing). Either way, John was bagging a concept (and rightfully so), not an individual. Plus there hasn’t been an ounce of ‘tude in any of Kyle’s strips this week and I commend him on his excellent work in capturing the essence of each strip.
I love his drawings, too! Well done!

Yea, I think, Bill + Mr. Moon, it’s important to seperate writings which are supposed to be funny. He’s not tearing kyle down–he’s using a probably hastily grabbed sketch.
It doesn’t mean he thinks Kyle is terrible or a bad artist. Just one snagged drawing in a quick post about something that annoys him–tude–and while I would generally agree, I do think ‘tude is a pose that people have at times
Used well it can be a great moment of comic relief–for those of us reading, anyway.
