S.E.T.I. NEEDS YOUR HELP!

So I know I give the folks at SETI a hard time but I really do believe in the work they do and hope they’re successful in their Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence. Unfortunately they’re having some trouble right now and could really use YOUR help. I used to be a huge huge huge supporter of SETI. But now, after some enlightment, I do not and believe their resources especially their distributed computer network can be better used to solve medical problems or more.
Now don’t think I do not believe in extra terrestrial life or even intelligent extra terrestrial life. Logic dictates their is something out there. But recent discoveries concerning biology in space and the impracticality of sending messages over huge distances (like between galaxies) has led me to believe we have never been visited by intelligent non-terrestrial beings If they are carbon based life forms and fleshy like us, after years of space travel, a visit to Earth would be a death sentence after years of traveling in non-gravitational space. Even detecting a message from a far flung civilization trillions of kilometers out there is kind of ridiculous. Anything meaningful deteriorates after certain distances to the point of incomprehensibility. At best one would expect a hello world mesage, then we would send a reply that would take centuries, even millennium to deliver. An intelligent race wouldn’t bother. Better to use all that power and resource to find a solution to a hone bound problem.

Those guys don’t need the Arecibo telescope anymore. They’ve ot Paul Allen as their new sugar daddy who built for them a whole array a new radio telescopes ito detect the soap operas from Betelgeuse.
I really enjoy your comic strip man—aswell as the others of course… with the possible exception of Big Pants Mouse ;-)— You really seem to know a thing or two about this stuff, so I invite you to check our website The Daily Grail (www.dailygrail.com).
