"A Cry For Help" by Gerald DeJesus
August 31st, 2010 by GabeThis is it, the definitive end to Big Pants Mouse. I saved Jerry's masterpiece as the final final final Big Pants. Why? Because it's all there. Like us all, Jerry has always had a soft spot in his heart for this little mouse, but unlike the rest of us, Jerry's heart is quite different.
Jerry is an amazing artist. You have seen his work and you didn't even know it!

My friend Tony introduced Jerry to me at a Carl's Jr. in '99. Tony wanted me to put in a good word for Jerry at Spumco. He was amazing, and we hired him for his flash expertise, but unbeknownst to me, I already "knew" Jerry.
See, some of us guys at Spumco had this contest called the "Ace Card". We would find the nastiest filthiest videos online and share them as our "ace card". Tony always seemed to have a HUGE amount of videos and would usually always win. But those times changed when Jerry started at Spumco. Jerry was Tony's secret supplier of depravity. If I would have known this, I would have told our boss that we needed to hire Jerry on his filth finding abilities alone!
Since then, I think I've worked with Jerry on every flash project I've done, including the Big Pants Mouse pilot at Disney. He is an amazing art director, bg designer, painter, animator, and all around great guy. Thanks for the final word Jerry, you put the final nail in Big Pant's coffin.
Thank you all for all the support over the years. Here's to the end of Big Pants and the start of Life In The Analog Age next week!

At last I've got my fix! Ha, ha, ha! New Skadi! Ha, Ha! New Diseasoid! Ha, ha, ha! New strip! (more deranged laughter) Oh Skadi why must you only come once a week? Why do your creators feel the need to waste time with earning a living and having a life, when they could be making more new strips? Why can't I get new Skadi four times a day? Five times? Six? Why must new Skadi be so rare? After all, without Skadi life has no meaning (Except on Thursdays when I get new 1930 Nitemare Theater).
Omigosh!
I just realized!
I'll have to wait a whole nother week for more new Skadi ... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO(and off into infinity)
and I'm glad to see that someone besides me has her name on her undies! I am so proud
Skaadi´s partner (whose name I never remember)acts in this saga (so to speak) as the perfect speechless partner. In this story) he is almost dispensable regarding story-line´s facts, but still we would miss him if he was not there.
The cult gang is simply wonderful. I really like that kind of Middle Age´s Hell´s Angel in the centre holding an axe.
By the way, it was great to see a "The End" at the idem of the story. I hope the auto-conclusive episodes come back (if they don´t, I´m sure I´ll still like this comic anyway). Congratulations, Katie and Luke, you´re doing a great job.
And ditto what everyone said about the title!
HUMAN WORDS!
OH MY GOD!
And I lol'ed at the detail on her ass, and the name tag, nice comic!

And so, Paul, I advise you to check out the "Cyanide and Happiness" daily strip if you aren't getting your fill of punchlines and quick humor.
My first comment makes it pretty clear what my critique is. Tillie got it; I'm sorry if you didn't.
2. Mark Morgan: Thanks for that amazing comment! It's that type of reaction that really gets us excited about creating this stuff. We'd make one everyday if only it weren't for that earning a living and having a life crap.
4,5,6,7. Andy: The "who are these guys" guys are the Dragon Cult members that chase Skadi at the end.
10. RNE: Rejoice! The multi-episodic Skadis are at an end for a least a month or two. Also, thanks for noticing the very wise placement of the title. Although, it's getting more and more difficult to find new and interesting places to write "Skadi" as the months go by.
12. Tillie: Funny observation about Skadi's hair. It gives me an idea for a comic, too!
14. Paul: I'm always interested in hearing criticism, and the comment section is an appropriate place to vent it. Of course, it's also fun to read the criticism of your criticism. :) Truth be told, the "Beyond Here Be Dragons" series was a bit of a patch work piece, and wasn't exactly planned to be a series from the outset. I like how it came out, but our next episodic Skadi comic will probably be more planned and thus have a more satisfying and conclusive ending.
Tillie and Jake, thanks for the defense, though. :)
21. Carl: Haha, yeah...Skadi is a total newb!
-Luke
There's a difference between that, and being just plain insulting and rude.
I'm with Luke, constructive criticism is alright with me. Personally I'm really happy with how me and Luke's first comic is turning out to be- I think its very representative of our humor and styles. But I do think as we get the hang of doing comics we'll get better...but don't expect Skadi to change in style too much. It can't be everyone's cup of tea. :)

I did enjoy the irony in your last post though.
And your reason for not giving specific crits is because nobody else does? What if everyone else like the strips? No one else acts like a jerk either, but that didn't stop you.
And yes, I realize the irony in the end of my post as well. It was intended to offend. Still feel like lunch?
