I am honored to present Dirk Erik Schulz, today's guest artist on 1930 Nightmare Theatre.
The talented Mr. Schulz (AKA Themrock) hails from Germany and is one of the most unique and visionary artists I've ever had the pleasure to work with. Check out his Deviant Art gallery and prepare to have your mind blown!

This week sees the 13-part Strawberry's Quest come to an end. This was sort of an improv experiment in comic form: I wrote part one, and from their John and I took turns writing each part until the comic came to a "logical" conclusion. It was a lot of fun, and I like what we came up with. We won't be doing it again anytime soon, however. We've got other fish to fry. We'll do more multi-parters in the future, possibly just as long, but with the story figured out beforehand. In the meantime, we'll be here with some gag strips, though we're going to take a three-week break after Valentine's Day. We've got some incredibly awesome guest strips for those weeks, so look forward to them.

In other news, all the old stuff in my Etsy shop is on über-sale, and I've added the piece above. Check it out at http://www.etsy.com/shop/TVsKyle
Brilliant work as always ^_^V

can Skadi's caboose be my valentine?
Well, maybe my uncle, but...
Normally a statement like that would indicate that I'm in a silly mood, but honestly, new Skadi just makes me giddy.
So what can we say about this? A lot actually, though once again I do feel that I'm reading somewhat into the material. Still, here goes:
I have to wonder about Skadi as a companion for Diseasiod. Once again he's gotten in trouble while she's not paying attention. I mean, I could be wrong, but from the expression on Og's face, he looks like he's about to pummel poor Diseasy. I wonder if there's some parallel between a neglectful mother and her child. Of course Skadi is hardly Diseasoid’s mother, and I doubt she views herself that way, but of the two, I imagine she would be the protector of the group.
Moving on, I think I'm beginning to see a recurring theme where the stinky one is concerned. As in 'Compassion', Diseasoid sets off to right a wrong, or in this case fix a sign, when it was honestly none of his business and he should have left well enough alone. As they say, no good deed goes unpunished.
Again, this is probably me reading things in the material that aren’t there, but stories are only as good as what you get out of them, and I have to tell you, I'm getting a lot out of this.
Viva La Skadi!
I can't wait for next Wednesday!
