Panel One: AUGH! I missed it!! (On the other hand, Mar looks adorable in her winter gear. NOM NOM NOM! Straw's hat is cute too.)

Panel Three: Great Frog Spirit's a little snippy today.

Panel Four: You mean Rad Thibodeaux? (OBSCURE!)

Panel Five: I like Froggy Poofs! They are crunchy-runchy!

Panel Seven: ...Oh, God, please tell me this isn't gonna be one of those tacky, defensive, attack-the-critics things we've seen in other Dumm Comics. I hope not. Don't feed the trolls!

I have to say I had some really big reserves about Frog Raccoon Strawberry when it first came out because I was part of the camp that disliked the nonsequitor/completely random jibjab it first started as. Actually to be totally blunt I hated this comic.

But what I like is that Kyle and John seem to have listened to the griping from people like me who weren't interested in 100% plotlessly written comics. I still see the odd random snipping but I also trust now while it's appealing to the people that like that stuff it'll get back to the stuff I enjoy too, which isn't 100% random as much as it is screwball.

I've come to really enjoy FRS and it's become a favorite for me in the Dumm Lineup next to Skadi and 1930. :> Keep it up I am so charmed by this comic now!

The best line happens in the opening frame! Everything you've ever done makes perfect sense now! Outstanding!

@Happenstance: You're... going to eat Marissa? I googled Rad Thibodeaux. I like how the wikipedia entry immediately calls him a self-proclaimed genius. Nope, no troll baiting in that panel. Just poking light fun at some of my pitching experiences.

@Lauren: Thanks! We're figuring out what Strawberry is as we go along, and I'm glad you like where it's going. I'm enjoying doing this multi-parter and I hope people like the direction it's going to take us in.

Maybe it's that I've been looking at black and white comics drawn with a brush pen for the past hour, but this looks really really nice. Can't wait to see where this is going!

Rad Thibodeaux is both completely smug in his assumed superiority, and totally clueless. Without comprehending the meaning, he introduces himself, in completely seriousness, thusly: "Hi. I'm Rad Tib-bo-de-ux. I'm a self-proclaimed genius."

I love that he isn't just a self-proclaimed genius, but in fact, a self-proclaimed self-proclaimed genius.

Now that's what i call a great opening panel!

@11 Ha! What? It could be about Marissa sort of tolerating everyone.

I dunno, Kyle, an alien trying live a normal life on Earth is a pretty standard fish-outta-water premise. Like Robot Jones sortakinda. I get that Marissa isn't exactly a proactive character, but that didn't stop "Daria" from lasting for five seasons.

This is one of the few comic strips that can make me laugh multiple times before the punchline/final panel arrives! Keep on rockin' (in the free world, or wherever you may happen to be)!
