"A Cry For Help" by Gerald DeJesus
August 31st, 2010 by GabeThis is it, the definitive end to Big Pants Mouse. I saved Jerry's masterpiece as the final final final Big Pants. Why? Because it's all there. Like us all, Jerry has always had a soft spot in his heart for this little mouse, but unlike the rest of us, Jerry's heart is quite different.
Jerry is an amazing artist. You have seen his work and you didn't even know it!

My friend Tony introduced Jerry to me at a Carl's Jr. in '99. Tony wanted me to put in a good word for Jerry at Spumco. He was amazing, and we hired him for his flash expertise, but unbeknownst to me, I already "knew" Jerry.
See, some of us guys at Spumco had this contest called the "Ace Card". We would find the nastiest filthiest videos online and share them as our "ace card". Tony always seemed to have a HUGE amount of videos and would usually always win. But those times changed when Jerry started at Spumco. Jerry was Tony's secret supplier of depravity. If I would have known this, I would have told our boss that we needed to hire Jerry on his filth finding abilities alone!
Since then, I think I've worked with Jerry on every flash project I've done, including the Big Pants Mouse pilot at Disney. He is an amazing art director, bg designer, painter, animator, and all around great guy. Thanks for the final word Jerry, you put the final nail in Big Pant's coffin.
Thank you all for all the support over the years. Here's to the end of Big Pants and the start of Life In The Analog Age next week!

hah, everything became clear!
I loved it! x]
I'm glad you have fun writing Skadi. I have fun reading it :)
Really though, I don't know why some people are making such a big deal about some continuity issues. Sometimes ideas change and you have a better grasp / idea of how things happen/ed.
As long as it's a good FUN story, I'll stick around to read it :-) Great work Katie and Luke!
Definitely cute (especially Diseasoid's eyes in 3 and 4) but I much preferred the first origin story story. The last two comics in this arc were a little too 80s sitcom "everybody in the show grew up together" retcon for me.
THAT WAS A HUGE AND EPIC LORE AND YOU ARE ENTIRELY DISREGARDING IT HOW COULD YOU I HATE YOU FOREVER
I think people need to calm down a bit. It's an awesome story regardless.
Chronic complainers are a bit of a double edged sword, though. On one hand, it's nice to have someone who cares enough (and has enough free time) to scrutinize every aspect of your work in immensely detailed diatribes. On the other hand, the negativity tends to spread and effect the audience in a way where they think the general dissent is bigger than it really is.
I guess you take the good with the bad, though.....and both negative and positive comments are greatly appreciated. We're glad that MOST of you enjoyed this little flash back episode.
I feel this is more like the changing of a spoken story over time rather than a blatant continuity break. even if it was. Skadi is a legend!
man, constrictions to continuity is what killed all the superhero comics in the first place, I reckon.
THese are great skadi comics as always, baby diseasoid is super cute and funny, in a pathetic way. and lil skadi has nice spaghetti arms and legs, just like a real teenager. And the way that she makes him serve her, it's like a groo comic, but even COOLER and FUNNIER.
keep it up guys
A lot of you guys, you are right, this isn't a huge, epic, serious novel that is going to be published, at the same time, I do take my time out of the day to read the comics I do enjoy and Skadi was one of them.
There really wasn't a reason to just go out and change the story, except you suddenly got an idea in your head you wanted something different for your characters.. And if that was the case, if you had EXPECTED your characters to change over time, if you had want to be able to go more in depth with your story, then you shouldn't have written something that would totally go against the rest of the story you had written. And whats worse is, you don't even TRY to fit in your alternative vision of Skadi in with the rest, you could have easily still included the slave trade and stuff and yet you just fucking ignore it.
I enjoy your comic, but I didn't enjoy the fact you just changed the story on a whim. It was annoying. You don't like my comments, then don't read them. Publishing stuff online means you'll get criticism.
Let me guess, big fan of George Lucas?
Read about it, Jeremy, and then talk.
COOBBRRAAA!!
This is a cartoon comic. made for people who love cartoony fun and comedy, not you uptight nerds who need everything to be literal to accept it.
These comics are not "Written" like the pointless crap you must like, which most likely also misses the point of comics.
They're drawn. By cartoonists. a cartoon is a medium that nerds like you seem to not like or understand. so just go read your Bone and star Wars comics and stay in your blinded, boring, literal world.
You're being more a jerk than a critic.
i love this idea!
I like lil Skadi, but I´m happy my grown up Skadi-babe is going to be back. Or is she?
Also, look at any dvd these days: How many of them have alternate endings, or deleted scenes? Whether one way or another is better, will be left to the fans and time to decide, but the point is, change can be a good thing.
