I love this comic! Diseasoids is awesome when he's doing his bard-type thing, plus the mountain climbing panel is fantastic. Learning Skadi's goal is... a tad disturbing xD

4. Mark Morgan Jr: Absolutely amazing ballad, Mark! Ivan totally owes you an apple now. (By the way, Skadi isn't gay, she just wants to be a man...I think there's a difference?)

6. RNE: Well, Katie and I have always pronounced Skadi in the way that rhymes with "lady". However, we stole the name from the Norse goddess, which is pronounced in a way that rhymes with "Scotty". Katie and I are kinda split on how we should officially pronounce it, though. I prefer the "rhymes with lady" pronunciation because I think it sounds cuter, but Katie now prefers the "rhymes with Scotty" pronunciation because it's more authentic. So, I guess you can pronounce it both ways, at the moment. What do you guys like better?

11. Steven T.: Don't worry. If Skadi reaches her goal to become a man then the comic will be over....so, we can safely conclude that she'll stay female for quite a while.

12. Valigarmander: Haha, I was wondering if anyone would noticed that. When I roughed out this comic, I forgot to draw Diseasoid's little upper-lip thing....and when Katie was cleaning it up, she liked how he looked without it, so she kept it the way I drew it. The upper-lip thing will be back, though....this was just a one time thing.

AMAZING!!! I LOVE THIS!! "Skadi" is my FAVORITE Dumm Comic. "1930 Nightmare Theater" is my other favorite, but sometimes it can be a bit TOO dark for my mood. Fortunately, Ricky, Katie, and Luke change up the tone, subject matter, and pacing of the comic every now and then (like EVERY good entertainer should) so we all can enjoy something new EVERY DAY!! :)

I suppose there is an difference between wanting a sex change and being gay, but to be honest, the gay rhyme sort of flowed out of me and I thought it was kind of funny, so I kept it.

But then, now that I think about it, if Skadi isn't gay, that is, if being a woman she still prefers men, by becoming a man won't she then be gay, even if she's not now, that is, unless her attraction to men changes to an attraction to women when she becomes a man.

I like Skadi to rhyme with lady, personally. Skadi when she's a lady, but when (if) she transitions into a man, aka a Scotty, then I will call her by the more masculine-sounding soft "a" like Skaudi.

Personally, I still prefer the Skadi that rhymes with Lady pronunciation, however, since Katie doesn't and since she is one of the most blessed creators of my favorite dumm character, I now present a special edition DVD deleted stanza alternate ending in (to quote the immortal e-mailer) all three of the glorious D's! And this version is specially geared to be read as the rhymes with Scottie pronunciation. Enjoy!

Well, if any chick can make a beard look good, it's Skadi.

The whole appeal of Skadi is that she's a kickass girl character. It's kind of ... sad that her Great Big Motivation is to be male. Why can't she be a girl with a beard? ;)

LOL THAT PRIEST MUST BE GAY. That makes me want to venture into Skadi's past. It really, really does. I bet she was the CUTEST child.

I love Skadi's expression in the last panel... She's like, twitching. Messed up girl. I love her so much. And also... I'm so used to saying it with the rhyme of lady, I wouldn't want you to use the other option... It's more original to me, it IS cuter, and when you're telling people about your comic they'll probably think you're saying Scotty... LOL But I LOVE BOTH ways. And I love Katie.
