I read on strip anon
And here I thought part 1 a lark
And that the Ballad's done
But wrong t'was I, and greatly so
For as the bushbeast plays
We see at last her goal's to change
Can fair Skadi yet be gay?
I hope tis not, but yet may be,
So my thoughts I'll turn away
And comment upon other things
So here's what I've to say
The art is grand; Diseasoid cute
Especially on panel five
As Skadi climbs to hunt a goat
No longer now alive
The druid's design, me thinks most grand
There's a definite appeal
And the lass envisioned on panel twain
Is wonderful, so I feel
But though the joke does haunt my soul,
I'll declare in roaring shouts
It made me laugh and chortle long
Till nearly I passed out
So as to the ballad, this I sing
Before pirates, gents, and ladies
It reminds me why, no strip I love
With the passion that I love Skadi!
(For those of you wondering, I am a published poet. Great Job, Luke and Katie. Sorry I missed last week. I just checked it out a minute ago and laughed my butt off again. The design on the bush beast god was one for the ages!)
I don't need no stinkin' pagan blessing...! I do love me some animal meat, though, so I can't be all bad.
Skadi's ALL woman.
Don't you need somebody to love
Wouldn't you love somebody to love
You better find somebody to love.
6. RNE: Well, Katie and I have always pronounced Skadi in the way that rhymes with "lady". However, we stole the name from the Norse goddess, which is pronounced in a way that rhymes with "Scotty". Katie and I are kinda split on how we should officially pronounce it, though. I prefer the "rhymes with lady" pronunciation because I think it sounds cuter, but Katie now prefers the "rhymes with Scotty" pronunciation because it's more authentic. So, I guess you can pronounce it both ways, at the moment. What do you guys like better?
11. Steven T.: Don't worry. If Skadi reaches her goal to become a man then the comic will be over....so, we can safely conclude that she'll stay female for quite a while.
12. Valigarmander: Haha, I was wondering if anyone would noticed that. When I roughed out this comic, I forgot to draw Diseasoid's little upper-lip thing....and when Katie was cleaning it up, she liked how he looked without it, so she kept it the way I drew it. The upper-lip thing will be back, though....this was just a one time thing.
Skadi is still sexy with a beard.
I suppose there is an difference between wanting a sex change and being gay, but to be honest, the gay rhyme sort of flowed out of me and I thought it was kind of funny, so I kept it.
But then, now that I think about it, if Skadi isn't gay, that is, if being a woman she still prefers men, by becoming a man won't she then be gay, even if she's not now, that is, unless her attraction to men changes to an attraction to women when she becomes a man.
My gosh I have a convulated mind, don't I
Ivan,
I still haven't got my apple yet. You have two weeks and then you'll be hearing from enfor, that is, my lawyer.
P.S. If a couple of burly guys break your legs one night, asking about an apple, there's no way you can prove I sent them.
So as to the ballad, this I sing
Before those both low and haughty
It reminds me why, no strip I love
With the passion that I love Skadi!
This one's for you Katie! Have a great day everyone.
I love Skadi's expression in the last panel... She's like, twitching. Messed up girl. I love her so much. And also... I'm so used to saying it with the rhyme of lady, I wouldn't want you to use the other option... It's more original to me, it IS cuter, and when you're telling people about your comic they'll probably think you're saying Scotty... LOL But I LOVE BOTH ways. And I love Katie.
