"A Cry For Help" by Gerald DeJesus
August 31st, 2010 by GabeThis is it, the definitive end to Big Pants Mouse. I saved Jerry's masterpiece as the final final final Big Pants. Why? Because it's all there. Like us all, Jerry has always had a soft spot in his heart for this little mouse, but unlike the rest of us, Jerry's heart is quite different.
Jerry is an amazing artist. You have seen his work and you didn't even know it!

My friend Tony introduced Jerry to me at a Carl's Jr. in '99. Tony wanted me to put in a good word for Jerry at Spumco. He was amazing, and we hired him for his flash expertise, but unbeknownst to me, I already "knew" Jerry.
See, some of us guys at Spumco had this contest called the "Ace Card". We would find the nastiest filthiest videos online and share them as our "ace card". Tony always seemed to have a HUGE amount of videos and would usually always win. But those times changed when Jerry started at Spumco. Jerry was Tony's secret supplier of depravity. If I would have known this, I would have told our boss that we needed to hire Jerry on his filth finding abilities alone!
Since then, I think I've worked with Jerry on every flash project I've done, including the Big Pants Mouse pilot at Disney. He is an amazing art director, bg designer, painter, animator, and all around great guy. Thanks for the final word Jerry, you put the final nail in Big Pant's coffin.
Thank you all for all the support over the years. Here's to the end of Big Pants and the start of Life In The Analog Age next week!

The kitty was cute before the CLOSE UP!!! WAHahahahahhah!!!!
That's why love webcomics the scrolly part hides the surprises well.
That first panel is SO appealing, and that last panel is SO real.
Wow.
that last panel is amazing. run for it Chuppie!
...crud! Little Ricky even LOOKS like my Shadow!
Anyway, nostalgia aside, hilarious and oddly adorable comic, as usual. Not to mention, nice to look at!
I'd talk about how good the artwork is, but where Skadi's concerned, that's kind of like telling someone the sun is bright. Katie, Luke; you rule!
Now that I've stated the obvious, I'd like to mention how much I've been enjoying your Halloween themed stories. It's also interesting to see Skadi as a champion of the oppressed. I love the way she looks on panel #3, with her bottom eyelid half up.
One of the things I really like about Skadi is how much characterization you communicate through your drawings. Even Diseasiod's brief appearance on panel #4 reflects his distaste for violence.
And that last panel. The amount of detail you put into that cat is insane! I've owned cats most of my life and when I was younger, my parents once had twenty seven of them at one time. My Dad used to joke about what he called the great roving herd of cats in his backyard. So yeah, I know what a bunch of backstabbers they can be, but gosh, are they cute!
Anyway, happy Halloween, guys and keep them strips a'comin'! A week without new Skadi is not a week I want to come.
and
Next to last Panel: A single tear for a great deed! I didn't even see it my first reading!
Nice details and funny joke in all! Keep up the great work!
But I love her heroic, knight-like talk!
Anyway, this is a great strip, the artwork, the humor, the dialogue... All of it deserves an A.
Poor ladybug! Decapitation sure is rough on one's neck.
P.S. Skadi also looks awesomely hilarious in Panels #3-6! The little critters running away in the last panel also look TOO CUTE!!!!
P.S.S. I think this is the most Skadi has ever talked as of yet!
