I’m starting to get suspicious of how a weekly comic deadline is affecting our artists’ health…
At any rate I think maybe the suggestion of reintroducing the guest-comic could help with deadline stress if that is the case.

Ricky Garduno (of Dummcomic 1930s nightmare theatre) did a handful of them, and shortly after, tragically took his own life.
I don’t think it’s really in anyone’s best interest to do that sort of thing.
I think it’s pretty hard not to instantly be reminded of Ricky’s situation and passing when reading a blatant suicide-pun comic on Dummcomics. Sorry Guys is one of my favorites but.. I can’t get behind this.
I dunno, Ricky’s comics you could actually feel his despair through them. This comic I don’t feel David transmitting through Bird Bert, just his macabre style.
A cry for help? Don’t do it – teal and pink stripes look horrible and just aren’t worth it! Nobody wants you to end up with a fashion sense like Bird Bert’s.
Like Rick Garduno? David don’t do it!
I am not Bird Bert. I would never use a noose.
I hope this is multi-part because I would enjoy seeing more Bird Bert.

We need a comic that’s nothing but suicide gags. I’m still waiting for a Dumm shoutout to “well, now I’ve seen EVERYTHING!”

I like this bird. Fun design mixed with pleasantly gloomy color palette. The front view drawing of him is really making me laugh.
