The punchline confused me because when Raz referred to it as “one of these babies” I thought he was saying that it was literally a baby. Because that’s what Raz would do.
The “babies” thing is indeed very funny, but I feel the effect is somewhat lessened by it being literal-yet-not-100%-literal. Maybe the joke could be optimized by showing an actual baby skeleton instead of what looks like a more full-grown human?

They’re also bigger files – I’m going for low filesize and fast pageloads, plus I think the crappy .gif artifacts are kind of endearing. I spend a lot of time on tumblr and I’ve grown to love pixely gifs.
Hmm… I feel like the way you spelled out the joke for us in the last panel kinda ruined it. What fluffy said was on the right track. I would’ve liked something along the lines of:
Raz: “Every year we gotta drop one of THESE babies into it… [etc]”
Wally: “Wait, babies? There’s a BABY in here?”
Raz: “Who told you?! Er, I mean… no! Of course not. Don’t be ridiculous.”
