I’ve never been a big fan of the jokes either, but I’ve always loved your artistic style and bizarre color schemes. You really know how to set an atmosphere for something in an awesome way!
While I do like this current style and all the vibrant colours that you’re using, I do miss real backgrounds, like in Raz’s office, or on top of the building. The more recent, flat colour BGs just don’t do the rest of the comic justice, I think.
Fair enough. It’s all a factor of how much I can produce in the time that I’m not at my day job, so lately I’ve been trading the BGs for more panels and crazier character poses and expressions. It seemed like nobody cared about the BGs so I thought I’d put that energy elsewhere for a while. Also, the BGs had gotten really 3D and crazy, and I thought it might have been distracting from the jokes (what jokes, right?). I had heard a theory that crazy 3D environments and skewed camera angles work better for action and flatness sells humor more effectively, so I started going in that direction.
Just because you brought it up, though, I’ll throw in a few more BG elements in the next few comics. I like it when people actually give me useful constructive criticism!
I’m not a big fan of the jokes in this comic. but this alien drawings are pretty good!
Wally is into sci-fi?
I would say it’s more new age mysticism.

Hey, I’ll take what I can get! Seriously, though, thanks for appreciating the artwork ;)
