Holy crap, a pencil in the arm!? Did she really do that, or is this just an exaggeration to give an idea of how bad she could be? Either way, holy crap in a hat.
Oof… I once did the pencil thing when I was young. Other kids had been bullying me as I was drawing. I remember the feeling, sitting behind my desk having a group around me who wouldn’t leave me alone. I stabbed my pencil into another kid’s hand. It was a moment of uncontrollable anger and luckily a very rare one. I can safely say I was a very friendly kid apart from that. :)
I grew up in a class full of bullies, who were mostly female. None of them had a reason to act like that. Honestly, they werent even that strong, just hysterical and aggressive. But, Gabe, you are oh so correct about the pencil. I still clearly remember being wounded by that thing in the middle of the class by one of my dear classmates. Good times, good times.
Haha, ukrainian schools are not american schools, Gabe. They got some serious bullies. And the person who shoved the thing was, indeed, female. Actually, the whole setting was different – no computer games, no friendliness, just bullies. :)
My older brother was stabbed in the leg by a Bic pen. Some other classmate (who had some developmental issues, I recall) flipped out on him or something. He wasn’t a “Bethany” type though. Little beany guy who had the occasional temper. I remember coming home from school and seeing a hole right through my brother’s tan pants, surrounded by a mix of blue ink and blood.
I dunno, sometimes people don’t have a lot of reason to act that way (other than a lack of discipline from their parents), and other times a family looks fine and peachy on the outside but is secretly rotten on the inside. It’s scary how different a family’s public and private persona can be. I wouldn’t necessarily say none of them had a rough time of it at home.
Was her name really Bethany or are you modestly trying to “keep it that way” (re: being the secret hero of the class)?
Great characterization as a wild pig! I guess drawing her as a killer whale would’ve been a bit weird-looking, haha
Ha ha, reminds me of the time this guy kept mooning me in class every single day and my Math teacher didn’t want to do anything about it.
So one day when he mooned me I stabbed him as hard as I could and the pencil got stuck in his ass. He tried to get me in trouble and my teacher told him it served him right.

It’s slightly exaggerated. She did do everything else though…

I’m scared of bethany. but I am even more scared of who treated her in such a mean way to make her act out like that.

Yikes! That sounds like a scary class! I think everyone must have been in a school where a pencil got shoved into someone!

Love Bethany’s design!

Yikes! You can get ink poisoning fromm that!

Agreed, sometimes it’s very clear, and other times isn’t not. I think her behavior must have been because of a hard home life!

I have to change the names :) They are all real people though!
*little known trivia: not the first time Bethany appeared in Life in the Analog Age
Bethany looks a lot like Ganon, and that’s just fine with me.
LOL! I never realized!

Huzzah.
Yikes! I don’t know if I would have done that! Kinda scary…
there’s always a kid that’s a lil batty…
Yep
