Maybe I am strange but it is really hard to believe that she can be kind after previous strips. At the beginning, when she was just angry and careless, I`d believe it. But recently she turned more funnily-sadistic. At this point, the joke could have been that she just didnt beat him up and he is happy because this is best present he can get from her.
Skadi has always been complex… its an abusive relationship, for sure, so the humor is a bit dark, but its always been clear to me that she does care about Disesoid… shes rescued him for danger, hell, he took him in as a child. I mean, yeah, she killed his parents and made him her slave, but she was GOING to KILL him and then had a change of heart. Shes not JUST mean and abusive, shes also a bit tsundere.
