Looking back at the comments made after I posted my thoughts last Wednesday…I really think the comments section should be monitored more. Allow only constructive stuff instead of the asswipe comments by some people. It would really improve the atmosphere down here…
Free speech doesn’t equate to the ability to slander how much you want. Recall those anti-Muslim videos a little while back, and how whoever made ‘em was pleading freedom of speech despite it being a big dumb no-no? Look, if you’re going to criticize someone, don’t slander, insult, call them faggots. At least give them a REASON for why you protest, and state what you think may be better in the end. Be INTELLIGENT about it.
Most people would respond to a comment like yours with an equally hateful response, but I don’t believe that. Even if you’re accusation is exaggerated to all hell, and even if you might be a troll. I may be on the Internet, but I still know how to act like an honest human being.
If you’re going to make that point, do you really think the Muslim response was Fair?

Things is, you’re asking for things YOU don’t like to be censored for EVERYONE. That isn’t fair, if you don’t like it, you don’t have to read it, or respond to it, or acknowledge it.
It’s like we’ve all forgotten how to ignore things.
I think anyone should be allowed to do and say what they want as long as no one is physically hurt, if you don’t like what’s said in the comments section, >you literally don’t have to endure it.<
Also it would seem from Lukes last two "comics" that alot of people felt the hurt about how he handled his opportunity on this site. Alot of people were also said good luck.
-I personally think a little more effort would have been nice, or get some guest comics at least. His last real comic (the one where Trom is about to fight) was very lackluster for having so few updates prior.-
In short I kinda agree with the guy above, it's the internet, not your house, "get over it faggot."
I agree completely, but Dumm Comics is moderated by the artists themselves usually and they can delete your comics, stop you from posting or even out right ban you from the site itself for any reason they see fit.
The overall mentality from most of the writers and artists on this site, for the most part is way over the top, their egos are the fucking size of Canada and don’t you dare ever cross them.
There is a part of me that would love to monitor the comments section more, but early on the artists at Dumm decided not to censor what anyone had to say, unless it was a direct personal attack on someone, or something totally inappropriate that goes beyond “lol this comic sucks” and is actually hurtful or offensive. As someone who contributes to the site, it’s certainly tempting to just delete every negative thing, but ultimately we want everyone to be able to voice their opinions. People are more likely to take a courteous critique or complaint (it can be done) to heart more than a ugly insult, but even the ugly stuff lets us know that that people are having enough of a response to what we do to voice it. That being said, I do wish some readers would remember that we are actual people making the comics, not art robots.
give it to John Wills Balsley. He’s the most underappreciated but most deserving visitor of Dummcomics and a great cartoonist in general. I love his stuff more than anyone’s except Skadi.

As far as no-comic at all pages go, this is a rather classy choice.
