I just watched this right now at work with no sound, I totally got the gist of it, but I’ll definitely be watching it at home too! Mapping out your house and realizing that there is un accounted for areas… Truly the stuff of dreams, and nightmares, for an adventurous child!
Awesome, this was one of my favorites from you, Gabe! I also grew up in a weird house with mysteries that I’d obsess over…There were windows and doors that had been painted shut, balconies with no doors to them, and a weird spot that used to have a dumbwaiter that wasn’t there anymore. The attic was especially creepy as well…
It’s funny, because these sort of small, inconsistencies in a child’s life can really worry them, give them cause for alarm. I am kind of surprised your parents didn’t just mention why they were there. I found several empty spaces in my house.
One is in the kitchen wall, it’s a very small crawl space, it’s used to access pipes and electrical work in the walls.
There’s another one in another room, that’s designed to allow access to the gas pipes and heating ducts.
And I got another one I found on accident, I was walking up the stairs drunk and accidently kicked a wall and a part of the panel came out, it was full of old tools and building supplies. I use it to store another set of keys.
So those places may have had their uses, maybe your parents didn’t want you to know about it. Maybe Christmas present spots?
But it does reminds me of an episode of ‘A Haunting’, where a guy got a house in an auction and was remolding when he found a small cubby hole in the wall, that didn’t quite match up with the blue prints of the house. When he knocked the wall out, it turned out to be like a whole other bedroom. Turns out one of the previous occupations used it as a hidden place to abuse children.
Wow, thinking about those spaces now, I don’t think any of those spaces could hold a whole person. I’m pretty sure they weren’t anything of consequence.
I actually got other stuff too, since it’s so close to Halloween I guess it’s fair enough to share it.
I worked as a janitor in the school district of the town I work in. Last year there was a hostage situation and it ended up coming to a boiling point when a cop tried to tackle the kid holding the gun and the kid ended up shooting himself in the head in the struggle and died.
I started working at the school only a few weeks after that happened. At the time, the school completely cleaned the room up, cleaned it out and remodeled it, but they decided the room wouldn’t be used for 5 years. They even changed the locks on the doors so even the universal keys the janitors and teachers had wouldn’t work.
I thought it was kind of stupid, but everyone just thought I was insensitive. I mean, why waste an entire room simply because of a bad accident that happened there? When you think about it, people die all the time, in almost every possible place. If your house is old enough, chances are someone died there.
Well as it turns out, a new teacher ended up coming to the school shortly after and said she didn’t have a problem using the room, so the school had the class room opened back up and we moved all the furniture back it. It was a pain in the ass to have to move everything out to begin with and a lot of us were kind of upset they just changed their mind about locking the room up.
My specialty is floor maintenance, stripping, waxing and scrubbing floors. The problem is that during the day and even most of the evening, during the school week, it’s impossible to do because of the fact that there is just so much going on. Most of the weekends are busy too, so every once in a blue moon, my manager would give me over time, on the weekend, at 8 at night. I am always scheduled to work when there are no planned events or visits.
What’s really unsettling about the school is, all of the lights and stuff work on a special timer, that can only be changed at the school district’s offices, so after 7PM, all of the lights go from full, to only half. So this entire school is only lit with maybe half the lights, some lights aren’t on at all.
I had just finished stripping a hall way and was cleaning up when I suddenly heard a door unlock and then slam as if it had been opened or closed. You can hear the doors unlock in the school because they use specialty magnetic keys that make loud, clicking and popping sounds as they release.
I heard someone walking down a hall on the other side of me, so I had stopped what I was doing and went and checked it out. But I didn’t hear or see anyone. And I didn’t hear anything the rest of the night. I ended up waxing the floor quickly and then leaving, it really gave me a bad case of the creeps.
Because the school has a new security system because the shooting isn’t the first time it’s happened, everyone who has a electronic key, is identified by who they are when they enter or leave the building. I mentioned to my foreman what had happened and she said she’d e-mail the school district to find out if anyone was there that night.
Of course she “forgot” about it.
When you get down to it, a lot of ghost hunters and parapsychologists believe that emotions leave an impact on our environment, that it can leave an imprint on time and space. Love, happiness, sadness, illness, or in this case, a great tragedy could all have the potential to cause some sort of haunting. And a school is one of the best places, all of the raw emotions of young adults, it’s no wonder more schools aren’t haunted.
Did I imagine it? Was it the lone specter of the dead gunman? I don’t really know, all I can tell you is after that, I didn’t really care enough to want the other time.

Psh. That’s just where the boogieman, buried treasure, and bodies are hidden.
In that order :)
I just gotta ask, man:
Any weird ‘paranormal’ –I hate the word, BTW– experiences you had in that ole house?
Yes of course, a couple doozys. I’ll get to them :)

Ha! Thanks Katie! I think that anyone that has lived in a house likes us can relate to this!
Creepy stuff, old houses are the best!
Kinda… :(
I hope it wasn’t one of these: http://abcnews.go.com/Business/story?id=4102907&page=1#.UJCLDWejk0x
I don’t think it was like that, at least I hope it wasn’t…

Jeremy, you will give me nightmares with that tale!
I liked this video, very creepy. :)
Thanks! I think I might have been a really paranoid kid!
I actually really enjoyed the one Gabe posted about the shadows outside of his window, that one gave me the creeps.

Wow, that’s a great story! Thanks so much for sharing! I had a couple similar incidences, hopefully they will give you the creeps too! :)
It’s probably where that shadow monster lives that you saw that one night.
Probably! :)
