I didn’t really like horndog’s design but it was a pretty good read and a story I guess all of us can relate to, plus it was good to see a happy ending for a change! :D
Siete and Not Pathetic — Y’all don’t like Horndog’s looks? Oh, well. But I’d love to see anybody else’s take on his character, so if you want to mess around with it, email me your alternate character designs! — cgarrison [at] bham.rr.com ..
God, this comic is just terrible. The dialogue is unfunny and way too predictable, the tired story drags on forever, and all of your attempts to be clever fall totally flat. I will say this though: the art its self is quite good, honestly. You’re just a terrible goddamn writer is all.
I’m glad you liked the art, anyway, and I guess I should say the same thing to you as I did to the guys above. So, if you have some great script ideas for Zoo Laffs, email them to me! That’d be super-fun.
Chris, that guy has no idea what he’s talking about; this is by far my absolute favorite comic so far. I was literally laughing out loud every time Betsy had a sudden mood-swing because, oh god, its completely relatable. And hey, nice to see a happy ending (no pun intended) for once! I too didn’t notice his horns changing until the panel where his horns become all sad and floppy. Pure gold.
Keep up the fantastic work, Chris. I never forget to stop by on a Sunday.
I figured, as a B&W comic, it should only be allowed to have a B&W icon. But watch that space in the future, because I think someday I might place a color icon there, of some sort.
Oh, now I see what you’re saying. Yeah, we’ve got 3 with no background color, and 4 with colored backgrounds. Dumms, we’d better convene an emergency meeting to discuss this grave matter!
When I started Zoo Laffs, I really thought there would be a fair amount of upbeat conclusions. But it turns out that, in these super-short comedies, “Oh, how sweet, I’m glad they got together,” is very rarely a funny note to end on.
horns, nothin’! keep watching the NOSE…
fantastic work, whole lotta reading with a lot of eye candy and comedy ALL OVER.. frankly, I think THIS is a game ladies play, and it is just so RIGHTEOUS of ‘em, a good steak can take a while.. but when you smell it cooking, then take that first BITE… awww yes
Oh I like them all, I really dig your art style and the pencil colored comics are just awesome. Oh, and Buckley’s my favorite, both as a character and in the situations he ends up in!
Thanks! I’ve actually roughed out some long stories for Buckley, but I don’t think I’ll have time to finish them in the near future. Maybe later, though. There’s always TOMORROW night.
Good god, I love the huge veins on his horns on the third-last panel. Freakin’ hillarious! Well done on this one, super long, lots of text, but reads the way people tend to talk which is great, and totally serves the purpose of the long build-up. Great comic!
I’m not sure, really. I laid it all out in my sketchbook years ago, before I even knew that Zoo Laffs would be a webcomic. Then, a few months ago, I finished page 1. But then I got into working on the Ghost of a Chance story. Then, when I got done with that, I alternated between drawing those Michael strips and working on this. So it’s been in the pipeline forever. If I’d done it all at once, I guess I might have spent 8 hours per page (64 total). I spend way too much time on this labor of love!
I didn’t notice the horns on his head changing size until the third to last panel, and then I re-read the entire thing and laughed ’til I cried
Finally, a happy ending!
Yay, someone finally wins in the end! XD

“Not like YOU and me having sex, we`re beautiful”
…………….
NOPE.

Yelling Bird: And then they FUCKED!!!
And that’s how a young woman saved a sherman tank from a brutal raping.

Aw leave him be!
Could a terrible writer come up with a phrase like schlong schlathering?
I rest my case.
we all love you too CM
Chris i absolutely love the pencil style, it looks awesome.
btw, could you add some background color to the zoo laffs icon when highlighted
cocknose

oh nono i mean like filling it with white or gray or something, the transparent color just fells undumm, same for litaa and rad raz icons

Happy ending! I love happy endings! Anything but happy ending after that torment would have been atrocity!

haha, this one is really quite clever. I love the changing horns X3

Masterpiece!
AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
I loved how you drew this one as well as how funny it was, how long did this take to do?
