I had a day like that yesterday. I’m getting deployed overseas soon, so my gf took me to the new Coney Island and I had tons of fun on all the new rides and even some of the old ones. Days like that are the best.
Remember a day way back when, dry warm summer day, we’re sitting on the patio at my buddy Steve’s place, and he’s a big ol’ D&D nerd. We’ve got the Master’s Guide out, going through the magic items and weapons and laughing our asses off, and annoying the hell out of Steve in the process. My two faves? The Wand of Wander and the Rod of Lordly Might.
music and memories are my fun days, those nearly infinite moments in time where all that you’ve lived before hyper-focuses into a vibe that is so concentrated, you can’t help but giggle and throw your arms wide and say, ‘ DAMN, it’s good to be alive!’
But that’s my moldy old grown-up talk. back in kid days, it was weekends when my bro and I could hit up the construction sites south of our home, exploration, treasure-hunting ( soda caps with free soda offers), hunting for frogs and fish.. maximum good times!
