That’s NOT all, y’all! NEXT WEEK is the final installment in the Ghost of a Chance story. The week after that, I’m planning to post the Ghost of a Chance pinup gallery. So far, I’ve received four pinups, plus a few pledges. It’d be great if I ended up with twelve or more, to top the Kablooey!!! gallery, but it’s not looking very likely, right now. Unless YOU send me one! Read all about it under last week’s comic, and please try to have it to me by July 5th or so. It seems to me like maybe I’d get MORE entries on this one, since there are three different girls folks might like to draw this time. (Or four, if you count Jen.) But we’ll just have to wait and see.

Blah I don’t like this girl anymore, she is was mostly interested in him because of being a home owner and all that, now that she is actually seeing where he lives and what kind of person he is and stuff, she sees him more as a project to fix up. You shouldn’t look at people like that.

Yeah, everybody could use a little fixing up, but it’s not good to go into it with that in mind.
In America, and especially cities without very good public transit (which is the great majority of them), most everyone owns a car. So, if you don’t have one, a lot of people think something must be wrong with you.
I don’t own a car, I still get around. Fuck anyone who has a problem with that.

not pathetic – Yep, cultural norm.. part of the conditioning. I’m trying to remember where I read this great essay about car culture.. The author had this theory about cars as some sort of physical manifestation of peoples’ inner psychic great beast/animal.. in the sense that it’s got four “legs” like many animals, and the headlights/eyes. (and I suppose the analogy can be continued more minutely as well, but you get the idea..) But his argument too was that it can’t be explained just in rational terms – that it answers to some psychic need at least partly. You’ve got this hard shell around you, you speed along at high speed, you can see out but people can’t really see you very well. Wish I could remember the source..

That’s a hilarious way to review something. You could use it almost anywhere. Watching the end credits of Pixar’s Brave: “So I take it no hardcore sex, then? Still a great arc.” Season finale of Whale Wars: “So I take it no hardcore sex, then? Still a great arc.”
Anyway, I’ve just got to draw one more episode, and the story will be over. Well … it’ll be at a good stopping point, at least. ‘Til next week, True Believers!
