My tunnel was the old cabin behind our house. It was full of old junk and I always imagined something evil lurking there, waiting to grab anyone that ventured in. Sometimes I would sneak in quick to dig through stuff and then run out in fear :P
OH man! The things you imagine as a child. They were all WAY more interesting than the things adults tend to fear! I’d still be nervous about a dark but short tunnel like that to this day… but for a different reason. SPIDERS.
When I was younger I lived in this apartment that had really creepy stairs that scared the piss out of me for some reason. My mother would tell me to take the laundry out or something, sending me downstairs and the stairs had really low, spooky lighting and the laundry machines would make noises that echoed through the stairs. Whenever I was down there I felt like I was being watched or followed so I ran as fast as I could back and forth (the laundry room wasn’t scary at all though, it was like a little sanctuary)
So as long as you could make it to the laundry room you were safe? Yep, I know that feeling. I had to go into the middle of my room to turn on the lights. I hated it.
ohh dude, NICE monsters! it must suck to be able to construct those things you can’t see in the darkness..
there was a long open-air alley near my 3rd-grade school, seemed like there was NEVER anyone there and birds didn’t even come there. It was the alley of Silence.. and the mind works with that quiet when you walk it twice a day.
another nice childhood boss-encounter from gabester!
I’m currently suggesting it to Buckethead as a song on his next album.
NOT REALLY. but it does sound like it’d have gone well on the Buckethead Pikes albums
…seriously though, I’ve often considered heading back to that alley, seeing if it’s still there
and still alive.
Our basement had a dark foreboding corner that housed wood for the wood stove in winter– no light could ever illuminate that horrifying dark corner! Flashlight batteries seemed to dim, the lightbulb’s rays never reached into the corner– and i’m pretty sure four zillion spiders, a monster bear, and a serial killer lurked in there!
My huge fear …. a fifty foot inflatable Texaco gas station attendant.
Wow, you must not get scared too often then :)

It’s funny how just darkness makes us fear. If it was super bright in there I bet it wouldn’t have been so scary…

Yikes! That’s still a valid fear, spiders can kill you…
Awesome. I love a good tunnel.
Tunnels are cool, especially for trains!
There are some wonderful faces and poses in this page. Keep up the good work.
Thanks! I really wanted to push this one a little more, glad you noticed!

Ooh you’re gonna have such fun with the tunnel of light! :P
Well, a well-lit tunnel isn’t scary :)

Thanks! Wow! “Alley of Silence”, that’s great! It has to be even spookier if you didn’t hear ANYTHING! Yikes!

Face your fears, take pictures! See if it still scared the crap out of you :)

I bet they did too! Did you ever see anyone watching you from that corner?
my fear was the automatic drive-thru car wash…
Aw, that’s not so bad…but I can see it! :)
