What if onion puss is actually a regular onion possessed by the soul of a guy who REALLY loved onions?

He died sad and alone with his onion breath, and now his ghost can never cross over until he lands a date.

It’s funny because this is the extent of all the scares in all those ghost hunter shows on Sci-Fi (or syfy now, ugh.) Except after that happens, there’s an immediate commercial and when they come back, some dumb broad is going “DID YOU FEEL THAT? SOMETHING JUST TOUCHED ME?” and her new-agey douche boyfriend going “I DIDN’T TOUCH YOU!” And then they go on to continue finding nothing.

That sums up ‘Finding Bigfoot’, too.

Yeah, it can be very annoying, how excited they get about subtle clicks and such, on shows like that. I don’t take any stock in strange noises, but I am intrigued when they seemingly get really good EVP’s. Of course then, they might be hoaxing it. Or maybe it’s some kind of radio interference, or maybe they’re recording the subconscious thoughts of the people around them, instead of ghost voices. Who knows WHAT it is?

I’d go on a ghost hunt, but I’m too busy drawing comics. I’ll leave it to our intrepid hero Onion Puss to figure out. Maybe HE can get to the bottom of it!

Being a skeptical believer in spirits and the paranormal in general, I think you’ve captured most of the mainstream ghost hunters perfectly in this week’s comic.

I used to really dig Ghost Hunters and other shows on the Syfy channel, but the longer the series got, the more absurd it got along the way. And don’t get me started on Ghost Adventurers. After they had an episode where the found a “portal to hell” and closed it, I stopped watching it altogether.

I liked the idea of Haunted Collector, but I am still on the fence about it after I read allegations that he simply cases a house for the most expensive antiques a person has and then claims it is “haunted” so he can take it from their home. I also found it odd that every single haunting they ever investigated, they have ALWAYS found something that could be connected to the haunting. That seems a little too convenient to me.

If I wanted to watch re-enacted drama, there are plenty of shows who do it so damn well. Does anyone else remember Discovery Channel’s ‘A Haunting’? That was an awesome TV show, I was pissed when they canceled it because it, “didn’t fit in”. But all that other shit they air really does, doesn’t it?

Also that guy pissed himself. What a pussy. I think Onion Puss should gain points for that.

A skeptical believer. I like that. I think maybe that’s what I am, too. I enjoy to believe in it, but I’m constantly noticing that I don’t quite have good enough reasons to believe in it.

What’s the one with the girl psychic and the detective … Dead Files. They always point out that she’s coming up with all this stuff psychically, which he turns up through research, and that the two DO NOT COMMUNICATE until the end of the show. That would be fine, but then you notice that he always goes and does his research 24 hours BEFORE she does her psychic walk through. So, if they just have a 5-minute phone call where he tells her what to say, it’s that easy. The entire premise of the show is based on our just TAKING THEIR WORD that they didn’t talk!

Yes, Haunted Collector is crazy, because it’s ALWAYS the fault of some haunted object! And on the other shows, it’s NEVER the fault of some haunted object! By golly, if it wasn’t so fun to believe in ghosts, it’d really make you start to wonder!

My wife and I were addicted to A Haunting, and its sister show on Animal Planet, The Haunted. The difference being that, on the Animal Planet version, the people happen to have some pets! Haha.

I was going to call Gavin’s device the infra-ghost camera, and I had it all penciled and everything. Then I happened to come across an article that mentioned how some scientist had shown that low frequency sounds (infra-sound, too low for us to consciously hear) causes people to get the feeling that someone’s watching them, and to see figures out of the corners of their eyes. So apparently, you can like, set up a special speaker, and the house is haunted. Then you unplug it, and the people are like, “that feeling of heaviness in the air is suddenly lifted.” Wow, that’s really something to look into! Anyway, after I read that, I changed it from infra-ghost to infra-sound.

Hopefully Gavin and the Ghost Gang can make some breakthroughs in the “field” (?) of paranormal research, and we can all learn a thing or two about what goes on. Tune in next week to find out, everybody. … Excelsior!

Hmm, I don’t know, I guess for me it’s harder to explain. It’s not that I find it “fun” to believe in it, it’s just there are so many variables that often times what people think might be paranormal could be almost anything else. One of the TAPS members once said, “rule out all possibilities and you’ll be left with the truth.”

So when someone says, “Oh dude, my house is haunted” I’ll say something like, “OK, maybe, but maybe it was this instead..”, a few times I’ve even managed to debunk alleged haunting for my friends and family. I’ve had some weird experiences growing up, so I definitely believe in ghosts, I just feel like in this sort of market, there are more lies then truth.

I believe that spirits are most likely part of life like anything else and maybe one day they might even be able to be explained and studied through science.

I’m all coldly scientifical but I love ghost mythology, and I live near St. Augustine, supposedly America’s most haunted city. I’ve been on one of their ghost tours, which is cool, because instead of just telling made-up ghost stories they simply show you where actual horrific deaths and freak accidents occurred – it’s more of a grisly history tour dressed up as a ghost tour.

There was a bishop whose corpse exploded because of how it was stored!

Anyway, one building there is said to be the one place where Tapps or Ghost Hunters or one of those shows actually found something that totally baffled them, I forget what.
