Yes, this strip is to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the release of Pac-Man Fever!
In March of 1982 this song hit #9 on the charts! Thanks Buckner and Garcia for making such and awesomely cheesy song!
(Tune into www.lifeintheanlogage.com for a week long celebration all about this album!)

Hated the song, loved the game, but then again, I’m more of Pinball Wizard fan
Pinball Wizard is great too! Did you ever play the Pinball Wizard pinball game?
Very Curious, Gabe.
I playing Pac-Man in different versions.
If only someone would make a catchy song for Crossbows & Catapults! ;)
Yeah! I second that!
I didn’t actually hear this song when it first came out. It was the mid 90′s and I was dicking around in my Mom’s van and I had the radio on, it must have been on a oldies station, because I heard it for the first time and fell in love with the song.
Then again I was never a Pac-Man fan, I prefer Ms.Pac-Man over the first game. Not that it added a whole lot, but it was faster moving, which I appreacated.
Agreed, Ms. Pac-Man was better. There was never a Ms. Pac-Man song though…
I hope you listen to more music now.
I do. :)
All of Buckner & Garcia’s video game songs are brilliantly cheesy. You’re so lucky to have heard Pac-Man Fever when it was new! I didn’t know any of them even existed until I got the internet.
I was but a young lad when I heard that on the radio. Pretty cool that it has endured all these years.
I actually didn’t know this song existed until a few years ago when I was doing community service at a harm reduction center. During my lunch break there was a smoky internet cafe with a pirated arcade machine and tons of bootleg copies of video games on it from all over the world and it would play “Pac-Man Fever” in the main menu. Apparently it was one of the owner’s favorite songs and soon became one of mine.
Wow! That owner sounds cool. I can’t believe he kept a machine in there. Were there a lot of people who played it?
… a don’tcha get any onya, ya sloppy peeg, have some more ravioli
you get roly-poly and nice and a beeg like your cousin Luigi
Luigi, Luigi
capiche, paisan? capiche, paisan? capiche, paisan?
Wait…there isn’t ANOTHER lasagna song, is there?
Nope, that’s the one and only! :)
IT BEGINS!
Yes, yes it does. ?
Iv never actually heard that song untill now! Cool!
Awesome! Glad I could introduce you to it! :)
Weird Al reference adds +27 to awesomeness!
Yes! Maybe that will put it over 30!
Okay, I’m a total nerd when it comes to old school gaming. So, how did I not hear this at any point in my childhood?
Also, ‘Lasagna’ was the first Weird Al song I ever heard. It changed me significantly. XD
I don’t know why you never heard this before. The important thing is you heard it now. Do you like it in all it’s cheesiness?
Lasagna is a great song, but I think I heard Ricky first…
Are you kidding? Of course I love it! It’s the anthem of my people; spending a day’s worth of coins at the arcade blazing through Pac-Man before dominating Space Harrier and then moving on to Rampage. Good times were had… and still are.
