Haha, good times. I remember doing this.
Another good thing to make noise with is the stem of dandelions if they are nice and thick.
You can even cut some holes in and get different notes. Dandelion Flute :D
I did this too! Also, if you found just the right palm leaves, you could pull at those with your thumb and first finger to make a LOUD squeal with the leaf.
By flexing your thumbs you can alter the tension of the grass and hence the pitch, but I remember it being really hard to control. Like playing a tune on a slide whistle.
I never was able to do it. Not even once.

One of the best, so far, due to simplicity. Focus on little brother is nice, too. Or maybe it’s something to do with the lack of vocal commentary.

i never managed to do it, but i was lucky enough to cut my self a few times with them nasty sharp edges…
this video is step 4
I wonder if it’s possible to play a melody with grass?
Cheers!

u did for a nephew or something didnt u
excellent
i used to fake doing this, substituting mouth squeaks with tightly pursed lips, because I couldn’t actually do it right.
I just ran outside and pulled a blade of grass. It’s going to take a little time to remaster.
The super thick grass was the easiest to whistle. Memories!!!
The simple little animations in this (like little brother wiggling his head back and forth when being annoying) just make it too cute. Love it!
It sounds like a damsel in distress yelling for help. XD
Ha! I guess it does! A really really whiney high-pitched damsel! :)
