ive been in a subverted situation: i actually tell people where to get the shirts i like, and they never go through with it, presumably because they dont want the same shirt as me

Totally used to do this. However, now, since it’s usually random people I’ll never see again, I’ll tell them. If I think they’re cool enough. If not, I lie and say I got it somewhere I didn’t or tell them it was a gift.
