This is EXACTLY how I remember standardized hearing tests as a kid. Only problem? I always failed them. My parents always got called into a frantic parent/teacher meeting. And every time my parents said “yeah, we know. We told you that at the beginning of the school year.”
As someone who was born hearing impaired I was subjected to this all the time. Until I finished high school of course… the forms they used definitely weren’t as simple as checking a box that said ‘can hear’. :)
I remember getting these along with a following visual check (similar to the DMV’s) in school.
I wore headphones when listing to this video….hehehehe I see what you did thar. ;D
Loved the corresponding stereo effects! At school, we always had them in a little study room at the back of the library. And we had to face AWAY from the adult operating the beepy machine.
I remember thinking it was a massive point of pride that I heard ‘each sound they played’, one of ‘em said once. What I’d read in the hobbit back then was bilbo had excellent hearing, better than most! that’s because when I was six, I was a burglar. When I found out what that was, what it meant, how dangerous it could be.. I had to try it
