Can we have a I HATE THIS button – just for the comments?
Then the folks who have lives can mod the complaining douchebags down out of sight. They do nothing to contribute to Dumm, and they cheapen the site with their constant, unwarranted moaning.
I view this as a positive. I think this is the end of the comics that were already uploaded and queued up when all the backlash hit. Hopefully the comics from here on will take into account some of the negative feedback Jack’s been getting, and show some experimentation, growth and improvement. Because I think it’s obvious to everyone that RAD RAZ can’t continue the way it has since it was added to this site and survive.
I like this one! Raz is actually smiling and feeling good about himself. That finally gives him some character/motivation! At least now we can see he enjoys doing what he does. To me, that’s an immense improvement! Keep on going, Jack! :)
Lol, I’m reading through the comments again see I made a spelling mistake, go to comment and say that I made a mistake and then realise I’ve beaten myself to it about a year previous.
Jack! How about you stop trying to make us laugh, and start with something else? For example: Gabe Swarr’s unique comic concept.
Funny comics may not be your genre.
What’s with all these random people hating this comic? These comics do have a punchline and are (in my opinion) rather funny. If you don’t like them, you don’t really have to read them unless you want to give ‘constructive’ criticism.
Yes, we understand that you DO NOT LIKE this. But what I can’t understand is how you all really hate it. I think like the art work is great, the jokes are quite good. Yes, it may be missing a few ‘special effects’ (like movement lines etc) but it’s not BAD enough to make people come on here every saturday and complain and vent your spleen.
Anyway, just because you don’t like 1/6 of the comics every week doesn’t mean that one comic is bad – it just means it’s a bit different then what you like. If I was to watch a movie I might choose a scifi one, or action, or a kids one etc. But if I don’t like drama, that doesn’t give me the right to go ‘OH LOLZ THIS IS TEH CRAPPPE!!111′ it just means I don’t like it.
I know people keep saying it and other people try to counter argue the point, but if you don’t like it, don’t read it. I am pretty sure that not reading a comic on saturday you won’t make you die. Another thing, before you complain, try making a webcomic yourself. I expect it is quite hard to do, like getting the art looking ok and trying to think of punchlines. You could probably SUGGEST some ideas on here, instead of acting like trolls.
Please, pause before submitting ‘lol raz go away’ or whatever and take a moment to think how this comic could be improved. Once you’ve done that, write said improvements in the comment box. Bearing in mind, this comic will only be updated 4 times a month (i.e. on the 4 saturdays, barring unusual month arrangements) so your suggestion may not be instantly acted upon.
I thought exactly what John Will Balsley posted when I read this. And in no sort of negative way. (Because I can imagine it being said as “Ahhhh, finally over and done with” by many of the people that view this. But I see it how it seems John does. “Ahh, a nice conclusion to those recurring strips.”)
I just really don’t know where all of the hate comes from, either. I’m not going to get into a big debate about it. All I want to say is: Jack, Good job. I have loved the comic since the beginning and the haters gon’ hate. They can suck it up. These past four strips were, well, there for a reason, what ever it may be. They don’t suck. Keep up the good work, brosef.
@steffyanie: Yup, I was just trying to lay some groundwork for RAZ’s character and give you an idea of what kind of stuff he does for fun. Giving you a little window into some snapshots of his life. But now that’s out of the way! Not to mention I was working a gig for the last month, so it made sense to experiment with something more condensed. The next comic will actually be quite a bit longer, but people should probably realize that some are gonna be long, some are gonna be short. It is what it is, folks. As John would say: Cheers!
i think it’s sort of asinine to make a bunch of one panel comics that could easily be a single comic stretched over the course of a month like this. it makes the punchline much weaker, and it was already a lame joke.
this comic would be so much better if it wasn’t just jokes about how rad raz is a generic cool-guy-criminal with no distinctive personality.
I like how Raz or his assistant hands them fake money and they’re completely clueless. I think it’s clear you put a good effort into these comics. Most of the character designs are very well done, it’s nicely colored, and has a good composition. So what if Deb (that’s her name isn’t it?) is a little awkward in this one and it’s not laugh out loud funny, it’s still a great comic and it’s free.
Now, I would like to see a story arc where Raz gets in hot water with a Mexican drug cartel
Raz has to wisely use his wealth to stave off men in ski masks who want Raz to star in a famous internet videos, punks who specialize in drive bys, and other crazy characters
Goddamnit. Where is the fucking I HATE THIS button!
Rad Raz is a poor addition to Dumm, and cheapens the site by its inclusion.
I vote to replace it with Biff Zongo.
That’s a great idea!

I wont let the hate take over me. No. Not this time!
Damnit its so hard!!!!!
Ah, the conclusion! Cheers!
John gets it. Yes, this is the conclusion of that storyline.
Don’t worry – There is a great guest strip coming up next week that, if you don’t like, then you are just incapable of liking things.
I admire your restraint, Lackó.
it wasnt worth it.
I like this one! Raz is actually smiling and feeling good about himself. That finally gives him some character/motivation! At least now we can see he enjoys doing what he does. To me, that’s an immense improvement! Keep on going, Jack! :)
Lol I love his expression XD And wtf is with here shoulders!
And to be honest, there’s nothing to complain about in this comic really…. so don’t, unless it’s helpfull complaints :)
So yeah, once again, I like this comic :D
Oh Lord…. as I pressed the comment button, I caught sight of my misspelling of her…. but it was too late then :(
Lol, I’m reading through the comments again see I made a spelling mistake, go to comment and say that I made a mistake and then realise I’ve beaten myself to it about a year previous.
This brings us the end of the running gag. :P
Yeah he’s rich and can get away with shit. Haha…
Get out of here Rad Raz.
You’re wrong. He aint rich, he’s a counterfeit.
Doesnt make much of a difference though.
Still not funny. Worst comic on Dumm by a long stretch, really.
fuck, this is worse than rumpus mcsnivel. at least HE made me laugh a little.
These jokes are so tired and bland, and obviously rushed. You need to put some effort into this comic, or it’ll stay the same boring recycled gags.
Jack! How about you stop trying to make us laugh, and start with something else? For example: Gabe Swarr’s unique comic concept.

in raz we trust
I like Rumpus McSnivel.

@jack
I found it quite funny, although some bits were a bit iffy :O lol
I like the art for this one C:
PS Thanks for the kind words, Simon. Nice to know I’m not completely insane.

it does show a lack of effort…

but that’s just, like, my opinion man.
Keep on Truckin, Jack.
i like!! :-D
looking forward to next week’s!
Haters gonna hate, trollers gonna put their cool-face on.
I like this one. But a few long strips to follow is something I will look forward to. :)
Haters Gonna Hate http://jackcusumano.wordpress.com/2011/02/12/raz-on-haters/
Rock on, Jack and Raz. I eagerly await whatever happens next.
Yeah good, I didn’t mean my comment in a negative way!
Cheers and Cheddar!
I personally wasn’t a fan of this running gag, but Raz has definitely delivered in the past and is in no way deserving of all this hate.
I’m looking forward to what’s coming next, Jack.
Eh, I thought this was an alright conclusion to the gag! And I really do LOVE the way Raz looks here.
haha, and the cop with his zombie-Raz hand.
Also, jack, I adore your user icon.
At least it’s not Tuesday!
